Oxford Pride of Place Project by the Caravan Gallery Ceramics by Mary Moser Prize Winner, Crabby Taylor Artwork by Oxford students on display across Oxford Castle Quarter
During Oxfordshire Artweeks O3 Gallery will be transformed into a dynamic hub for the Oxford Pride of Place Project, an evolving exhibition and creative collaboration by The Caravan Gallery and visitors to the space. Artists Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale have been busy touring the nooks and crannies of Oxford taking photographs that capture the idiosyncrasies of the city as its residents see it. This new series of photographic work will be on show in O3 Gallery and present a fresh take on the city and streets that are home to some of tourisms most recognizable UK landmarks. Williams and Teasdale have created the outline of A People's Map of Oxford, greeting visitors to O3 Gallery members of the public are invited to make their mark on this large-scale map, that will transform into a refreshingly honest and insightful 'locals' version of your average Tourist Map.
Over the course of Artweeks, the O3 Gallery will also play host to the work of award-winning ceramicist, Crabby Taylor whose tranquil and unique forms are "built as a statement for contemplation". In addition, works by Oxford students concerning the theme of "The Passing of Time" will be exhibited across the Oxford Castle Site.
