Charcoal Drawing

Venue, Timing and Cost

Venue:
Wytham Village Hall, Oxford, OX2 8QN
Date(s):
Friday, 1 June 2012
Timing:
9.30am - 3.30pm
Cost:
£60 (your third course is half price - applies to one person)

Suitable for those who have not worked in charcoal before and for those with experience.

The aim for the day is to create ‘form’ through your use of tone and mark making. During the morning you will learn techniques in the use of both compressed and willow charcoal for building up areas of tone, working from still life. This drawing can be developed as a representational or more abstracted piece. Depending on time and weather permitting, in the afternoon you will work directly from the landscape around the hall. Reference will be made to artists who have worked in the medium.
