BOOKWORKS: A Bookbinding Workshop for Artists

Closing Date:
Wednesday, 14 April, 2010
Salary / Fee:
£40 per workshop

Each Saturday course begins by experimenting with different paper folding techniques. Participants will investigate the physical characteristics of paper, and different forms will be explored including Maze books with glued covers, a Star and a Pamphlet stitched with a soft back. These will be supported by a plethora of examples produced either commercially or independently. The whole subject is fun but that does not always exclude the potential for serious development.During the workshop, participants will have the use of a personal dedicated range of tools so there is no need to bring anything other than basic pencils etc.

Meg Richardson and Trev Wardle are both experienced makers and have considerable teaching experience, especially with adult students. The Bullpen offers this workshop as part of its new short-workshop programme of arts workshops run by visiting artists.

Dates: Saturday 17th April and Saturday 24th April, 10-4. Cost: The workshops are £40 for the full day. To book: contact Helen Jacobs through the website or email.
