Commission opportunity
Stanton Harcourt and Sutton Public Art Commission
A commission is available for a public artist to create an inspiring work of art in this small West Oxfordshire village. Stanton Harcourt is rich in source material - visited by Alexander Pope in 1717, home to the Harcourt family since the 15th century and boasting one of only 5 neolithic henges remaining in the country today.
This is an open brief for artists working in either textiles, stone or stained glass to respond to the site. Resulting works could reside indoors in the village hall or outdoors on the village green. The steering group is open to ideas from talented public artists living/working within a 45 minute drive time of Stanton Harcourt.
Deadline for initial submissions is 5pm on 19th October.
