An evening of nonsense and jazz with celebrated poet, writer and broadcaster (and former Children’s Laureate) Michael Rosen and the award-winning Homemade Orchestra. An off-the-wall romp through an ever-changing musical landscape, igniting the surreal, the playful and the unexpected. Suitable for all ages.

Providing a place for adults who are interested in writing poetry, from beginners to more experienced writers, to discover more about poetry, develop their own writing skills and meet others who share their interest in an informal atmosphere.

Led by local poet and workshop leader, Louise Ordish

The sessions will enable those who are already writing regularly and those who are hoping to start their journey as a poet to engage in a range of writing exercises at their own level.

Back Room Poets will present a reading with invited guest reader David Constantine, Oxford poet and noted translator of German poetry as well as editor of the Oxford Poets anthology and the journal Modern Poetry in Translation, on the evening of 26 July in the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the Albion Beatnik Bookstore. Back Room Poets members reading will be: Veronica Beedham, Louise Larchbourne, John Vickers and Mark Leech (MC).

Mark Richards, chairman of the Lewis Carroll Society, will discuss 'The Art of Alice: from early illustration to contemporary Wonderlands'.
